Applies knowledge of engineering principles to design products such as engines, instruments, controls, robots, machines, etc. Conducts product testing and creates models and prototypes. May be involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and/or repair of mechanical products. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Requires a bachelor's degree of Mechanical Engineering. Typically reports to supervisor or manager. Gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience.
