Conducts internal auditing according to auditing standards and regulatory requirements and using established auditing governance frameworks and procedures. Reviews internal processes, transactions, documentation, and systems to validate compliance, evaluate effectiveness, identify issues, and prepare reports and recommendations for remediation. May coordinate with or prepare reports for external auditors or regulatory bodies. Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. May require a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in "solution" or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge. Typically requires 10+ years of related experience.
Assists with internal operational, financial, and compliance audits. Conducts branch internal audits to determine whether business controls are sufficient and effectively executed in accordance with bank policies and procedures. Tests established procedures to ensure operational efficiency within branch offices. Determines whether branches are performing their planning, accounting, custodial, or business control activities in compliance with policies and procedures. Documents internal control deficiencies and regulatory exceptions and identifies areas needing improvement. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Typically requires 2-4 years of related experience.
