Estimators generally have a standard workweek of around 40 hours; however, it is not uncommon for them to extend their hours, especially when project deadlines are approaching. The nature of their work often requires them to analyze complex data, prepare detailed cost estimates, and collaborate with various stakeholders, which can lead to longer hours during peak project phases. Additionally, estimators may need to attend meetings, conduct site visits, or respond to urgent requests from project managers, all of which can contribute to an increased workload. As a result, while a typical week may consist of 40 hours, estimators should be prepared for the possibility of working overtime to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
