An LMRT and an RT have different roles and responsibilities within the medical field. While both positions involve working with medical imaging equipment, an LMRT focuses on limited scope x-ray procedures, such as chest x-rays and extremity imaging. On the other hand, an RT is trained to perform a wider range of imaging procedures, including x-rays, MRIs, and CT scans. Additionally, an RT may also be responsible for administering contrast materials and assisting with interventional procedures. Therefore, while both positions involve medical imaging, an LMRT and an RT have distinct differences in their scope of practice and responsibilities.
