The key to determining whether demand is elastic or inelastic is to observe how demand changes in response to price fluctuations. For elastic goods, an increase in price will lead to a decrease in demand, and vice versa. In contrast, inelastic goods may experience a temporary increase in demand when the price drops, but overall consumption remains relatively stable.
