The Uber background check process typically takes three to five days, but in some cases, it may take longer due to the lack of electronic records at the county level. However, the process should not take more than ten days. The background checks are conducted by a third-party provider called Checkr, and once the report is received, Uber will assess the driver‘s eligibility. Applicants can monitor the status of their background check by signing into the Checkr Candidate Portal. The search will consult multi-state criminal records, the DMV, and the National Sex Offender Registry to ensure the safety of Uber‘s customers. Any outstanding issues, such as a pending criminal charge, will be revealed in the background check. Depending on the seriousness of the charges and local laws, some felony offenses may or may not result in Uber rejecting the application. While Uber is reviewing the results, you may receive a copy of the completed report from Checkr, and once a decision is made, the background check status will be updated.
