Embalming can indeed be a highly stressful job, as highlighted by the experiences of professionals in the field. For instance, one embalmer, Hardin, noted that the expectations set by management often leave little room for personal well-being. Working alongside just one other embalmer, she was responsible for preparing approximately 3,000 bodies annually, a workload that can be overwhelming. Hardin reported that during her two years at the care center, she rarely had the opportunity to take a break, which contributed significantly to her stress levels. The emotional toll of dealing with death on a daily basis, combined with the physical demands of the job, can create a challenging environment.
