What is a QMAP job?

A QMAP, or Qualified Medication Administration Personnel, is responsible for administering medication to patients in assisted living or other care facilities. Working alongside other medical staff, the QMAP ensures that patients receive the proper care by following written physician’s orders, administering medication correctly, filling medication reminder boxes, and documenting the time and dosage of each medication given. This role is governed by state law and requires the QMAP to work under the supervision of a licensed medical professional.
