Both a prosecutor and a defense attorney are legal professionals who have graduated from law school and passed the bar exam. However, their roles in the courtroom are quite different. While a prosecutor seeks to convince the jury of a defendant‘s guilt, a defense attorney works to create doubt in the jury‘s mind. In the event of a guilty verdict, both attorneys play a role in the sentencing process, with the prosecutor making recommendations and the defense attorney advocating for a more lenient outcome for their client.
