What is the highest salary for an event coordinator?

Merchant seamen can earn a competitive salary that varies depending on their experience, rank, and the type of vessel they work on. As of May 2025, the average annual salary for a Merchant Seaman in the United States is approximately $56,087, which translates to about $26.96 per hour. This equates to roughly $1,078 per week or $4,673 per month. These figures indicate that, while the pay is generally good compared to many other professions, it is also complemented by benefits such as travel opportunities, overtime pay, and allowances for living expenses aboard ships. Additionally, experienced seamen or those in specialized roles can earn significantly higher wages, making this a potentially lucrative career path for those interested in maritime work.
