What's the difference between an anesthesiologist assistant and an anesthesiologist?

An anesthesiologist assistant (AA) and an anesthesiologist are both integral to the field of anesthesia, but they have distinct roles and levels of responsibility. An AA is a trained healthcare professional who can perform various anesthesia-related tasks, similar to those performed by anesthesiologists and certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs).
