Requirements and Responsibilities

Marketing Director directs and develops an organization's marketing policies and objectives. Oversees market research and designs marketing plans for specific products, services, or business lines. Being a Marketing Director reviews changes in the marketplace and recommends marketing strategy to the top management. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Additionally, Marketing Director typically reports to top management. The Marketing Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Marketing Director typically requires 7+ years of managerial experience.
