Job Description

The Aviation Operations Director develops plans and schedules for skill development and training for pilots, crews, and operators. Directs overall aviation operations focused on operational efficiency and compliance with regulatory and organizational operating policies, procedures, and standards. Being an Aviation Operations Director oversees flight scheduling, aircraft maintenance, and inspection operations. Ensures all operations follow and comply with current FAA regulations, airworthiness, and safety standards. In addition, Aviation Operations Director applies risk management best practices for safety to assess and manage operations. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to senior management. The Aviation Operations Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Working as an Aviation Operations Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.
