Job Description

The Civil/Construction/Structural Engineering Manager reviews cost reports, time sheets, equipment records, engineering reports, and project construction schedules to maintain overall schedules and ensure work is completed on time. Manages a team of civil engineers and oversees their projects. Being a Civil/Construction/Structural Engineering Manager maintains relationships with team members, clients, and subcontractors. Ensures quality control and safety policies are strictly observed. In addition, Civil/Construction/Structural Engineering Manager assesses new potential projects and briefs civil engineers on new worksites and projects. Has extensive engineering knowledge and experience. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. May require a Professional Engineer License (PE). Typically reports to a director. The Civil/Construction/Structural Engineering Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Working as a Civil/Construction/Structural Engineering Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.
