The Diesel Technician I troubleshoots and diagnoses problems. Performs inspection, maintenance, repairs, and overhauls of diesel engines. Being a Diesel Technician I replaces and/or refurbishes parts. Utilizes computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes. In addition, Diesel Technician I maintains maintenance logs according to requirements. Ensures services provided follow all quality standards and safety procedures. May perform DOT annual inspections on vehicles. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically requires Commercial Driver License (CDL) - Class A. Typically requires a Certificate in Automotive & Diesel Technology. Typically reports to a supervisor. Being a Diesel Technician I works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.
