Job Description

The Hearing Aid Technician administers and interprets standardized hearing tests, including discrimination testing. Programs, fits, and adjusts hearing instruments for customers. Being a Hearing Aid Technician takes ear impressions and prepares and modifies ear molds to ensure proper fit and effective function. Determines customer needs and selects appropriate hearing aids for customers. In addition, Hearing Aid Technician monitors and tracks inventories and manages vendors to ensure adequate supplies and product availability. Conducts preventative maintenance and cleaning of assessment instruments. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a manager.
