Job Description

The Materials/Inventory Planning Senior Supervisor ensures raw materials are available to meet designated production schedules. Supervises a team of material planners to ensure raw material requirements are accurately and timely determined so an organization can run efficiently. Being a Materials/Inventory Planning Senior Supervisor reviews documented material needs and ensures that all codes, brands, and contact information necessary to process an order is accurate and confirms order sheets. Utilizes MRP system to coordinate material planning from purchasing, processing, warehousing, and production. In addition, Materials/Inventory Planning Senior Supervisor understands technical documents and works closely with members of the engineering team to complete plans. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Materials/Inventory Planning Senior Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Working as a Materials/Inventory Planning Senior Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.
