Job Description

Chief Pilot (Jet Fleet) assigns and supervises the duties of flight and ground personnel. Manages the overall operation of the aviation department. Being a Chief Pilot (Jet Fleet) coordinates aircraft maintenance with flight scheduling. Must stay current with federal and local flight regulations. Additionally, Chief Pilot (Jet Fleet) possesses current airline transport certificate with necessary type ratings. Requires a minimum of 5,000 hours of flight experience and 1,500 hours of pilot-in-command experience. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. The Chief Pilot (Jet Fleet) manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Chief Pilot (Jet Fleet) typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.
