Signal & Image Processing Engineer V designs, develops, and tests mathematical algorithms used to analyze and process signal and imagery data. Applies signal and image processing principles and mathematical methods to develop image capture systems. Being a Signal & Image Processing Engineer V develops the concepts, requirements, architecture, prototypes, algorithms, and models for systems. Performs extensive testing and validation of designs using simulation and modeling software and tools. Additionally, Signal & Image Processing Engineer V conducts research and studies to create innovative approaches for solutions and products. May require a PhD. Typically requires a master's degree in electrical engineering, mathematics, computer science, or related discipline. Typically reports to a director. The Signal & Image Processing Engineer V works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in "solution" or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization.
