Being a Medication Aide follows all relevant prescription instructions, documentation, and safety procedures. Educates residents on proper methods and timing of medications. In addition, Medication Aide reports any anomilies or changes in the patient related to the medication. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a registered nurse or manager. Being a Medication Aide works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Working as a Medication Aide typically requires 1-3 years of related experience, or may need 0 years of experience with additional specialized training and/or certification.
