Job Description A banner enterprise of the Tulane Department of Neurology is the Healthy Brain Aging Initiative (HBAI). This initiative, located at University Medical Center, includes a dedicated team of neurologists, neuropsychologists/psychometrists, advanced practice providers, social workers, and neuroscientists, aiming to promote healthy brain aging through its Center for Alzheimer's Prevention, its Center for Memory Disorders, and its Center for Parkinson's Disease. Through their partnership with LCMC Health, Tulane and LSU Neurology faculty are collaborating to build the region's only multi-institutional healthy brain aging initiative, and the largest and most comprehensive program in the Gulf South region. This is a clinical and research position. We study lethal metastatic cancer. The project aims to define how peripheral nerves in the metastatic tumor environment interact with cancer cells and affect progression, therapy and disease outcome. The team uses a genetically engineered model of metastatic prostate cancer in a native, immune competent environment (see PMIDs: 24444712, 25829425 and 31092557). Recently, they developed whole organ 3D imaging at single cell resolution of the disease (PMID 34788609). This now allows them to map and functionally probe the neuro-metastatic interface (reviewed in 32302564).
