Job Description Job Description SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: A DMS Diver is a diving specialist who is required to maintain proficiency in underwater tasks as well as the skills required by all divers. CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt (hourly) On-Call DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Accomplishes all tasks assigned by the Diving Supervisor. In the event they are assigned a task for which they do not consider themselves qualified by either training and/or experience, they shall immediately inform the Diving Supervisor. Reads, understands, and complies with all policies and applicable government regulations as they relate to their qualifications or performance while engaging in diving operations. Complies with regulations or instructions concerning the use, maintenance, repair, and testing of all diving equipment provided for the operation. Reports to the Diving Supervisor about any recent medical treatment or illness so that a proper determination can be made concerning their fitness to dive. Immediately

POSITION SUMMARY This position is accountable for performing dive operations in a marine construction work environment. All dive operations must be planned, performed and completed in a manner that ensures the safety of the Diver. The incumbent will work closely with the Operations Manager, Diving Supervisor, Dive Tenders and other Divers. If the diving activities are in support of the Company's project work, the incumbent may also work closely with the Project Superintendent and other Company personnel. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES * Works as assigned by the Diving Supervisor to ensure the safe and successful completion of all diving operations. * Performs such tasks topside and underwater as directed by the Diving supervisor. * Ensures all diver-worn equipment is properly maintained, complete and ready to use. DVs receive a 21-week rating course at the Navy Diving and Salvage Training Center in Panama City, FL, with instruction in air and mixed gas diving using SCUBA and hard hat; underwater cutting and welding; recompression chamber operations; underwater hydraulic tools; ship maintenance, repair, and salvage; lift bag operations; etc. Advanced training in cold water ice diving, along with instructor development training, EMT training, a first class diver supervisory course, side scan and remote-operated vehicle course, and various dive gear maintenance courses.
