Job Description for Legal Conflicts Manager

Legal Conflicts Manager manages a team responsible for identifying and researching potential conflicts of interest and reviewing new client/matter information. Ensures team is conducting research in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures. Being a Legal Conflicts Manager assists with investigation of potential conflicts through daily searches and preliminary checks on work intake and lateral hires. Works with attorneys to document conflict clearances on new business submissions. Additionally, Legal Conflicts Manager prepares clear and concise reports documenting the results of specific conflict searches and highlights the areas of potential conflict. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Legal Conflicts Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Legal Conflicts Manager typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.
