Managing Statistician manages a team of statisticians providing statistical experise and insight. Ensures relevant organizational functions receive adequate support, and that related projects run smoothly. Being a Managing Statistician oversees the training and work of statisticians, and gives guidance that ensures accurate, insightful, and well-presented analyses. Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Additionally, Managing Statistician typically reports to a director or head of a unit/department. The Managing Statistician manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Managing Statistician typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.
