Ecologists - Junior to Management Level required in all states.

We are seeking a number of personnel for various clients in all states.

This would suit personnel with experience of environmental consultancy or assessment, with a focus on terrestrial ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Environmental Surveys and Impact Assessments:
    • Conduct and oversee surveys and assessments of terrestrial ecosystems, including flora, fauna, biodiversity, and habitat.
  • Plant Community Identification:
    • Demonstrate advanced skills in identifying plant communities and species.
  • Field Survey Coordination:
    • Lead and coordinate field surveys for terrestrial flora and fauna.
  • Legislation Compliance:
    • Understand and apply relevant impact assessment legislation in ecological projects.
  • Technical Report Production:
    • Produce high-quality technical reports and provide technical reviews.
  • Team Support:
    • Offer technical support, mentoring, and assistance to team members.
  • Problem Solving:
    • Identify issues and develop appropriate solutions.
Qualifications Required

  • Educational Background:
    • Tertiary qualifications in Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Natural Resources, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • At least 2 years of experience in an environmental consultancy or public sector role, with a focus on ecological/environmental surveys and report production.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in Arc GIS, ESRI, and ePrimer.
    • High-level flora and fauna identification skills.
    • Advanced report writing skills.
  • Additional Skills:
    • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
    • A driver’s licence is essential; 4WD experience and accreditation are preferable.
    • Flexibility to travel occasionally.
  • Accreditations:
    • BAM Accreditation is advantageous but not essential.
These roles are well-suited for candidates with solid field experience, technical expertise, and at a more senior level the ability to lead and support a team while navigating regulatory requirements.
