Coal Technician - Full-Time - Gunnedah Lab
About The Position
ALS are seeking Expressions of Interest for a full-time coal Technician to work at the Gunnedah Lab. If you have a drive to produce quality results and a strong team spirit, we would like to hear from you. Reporting to the Gunnedah Operations Manager, you will be responsible for a range of duties including but not limited to:
Key Responsibilities
- Working Mon-Fri, 37.5 hr week
- Collection of a range of production and trains samples
- Performing a range of preparation and analytical tests including Ash, Moisture and Total Sulphur
- Ensuring that all work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner and to agreed standard operating instructions
- Checking and validating all results to ensure that they are within repeatability tolerances
- Maintaining laboratory equipment: Ovens/Furnaces, Leco/Sulfur
- Optimising turnaround time for samples whilst ensuring the highest quality of results is achieved and maintained
- Ensuring Quality Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures are followed
- Ensuring a high standard of housekeeping and presentation of all eqiupment and work areas
Skills/Qualifications:
- Reliable work history is a must
- Trustworthy
- A strong focus on Safety & Quality
- Ability to work and un-supervised at times
- Attention to detail
- Good Organisation and Communcation skills
- Previous industry experience would be an advantage
- Valid Drivers License
Training will be provided to the successful candidate. Shift coverage and working a reasonable amount of overtime may be mandatory for this role.
The position requires organisational skills, good time management and attention to detail. Your ability to learn on the job, remain motivated whilst working indepently without constant supervision in a high volume and dynamic environment will ensure your success.

Training will be provided to the succesful candidate. Shift work and overtime maybe required for this role
As part of the selection process, a pre-employment medical exam is required, including a drug and alcohol assessment.
