Network Engineer

Job Summary:

The Network Engineer (ADHOC) plays a crucial role in providing technical assistance to customers, resolving technical issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of our products and services on an as-needed basis. This position is perfect for individuals who prefer flexible working hours and are capable of responding to urgent technical matters as they arise.

Some of the common requests we get include:

1. Design, configure, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
2. Troubleshoot network issues and implement effective solutions to ensure uninterrupted network operation.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and implement network upgrades and expansions.
4. Monitor network performance and implement performance optimization techniques.
5. Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
6. Create and maintain network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
7. Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and other IT staff as needed.
8. Stay up-to-date with the latest networking technologies and trends, and recommend improvements to enhance network performance and security.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2. Proven experience as a Network Engineer or similar role.
3. Strong understanding of networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF).
4. Hands-on experience with network equipment from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto Networks, and Fortinet.
5. Familiarity with network monitoring tools, such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, or Nagios.
6. Solid understanding of network security concepts and best practices.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
9. Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network ) are a plus.
