Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Software Developer to drive the design, development, and delivery of robust software solutions for cutting-edge communications systems that are the backbone of public safety and emergency response.
You will collaborate with a highly skilled agile team, taking ownership of complex projects and ensuring seamless integration into existing platforms. This position emphasizes expertise in C and Linux development, with knowledge of C# and other programming languages considered highly beneficial.
In This Role You Will Be Responsible For:
- Conducting in-depth system analysis, design, and development for both new features and existing product enhancements in mission-critical applications, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code and participate in peer reviews and ensure adherence to high coding standards and best practices.
- Performing debugging, testing, and validation of software to meet quality standards.
- Actively participating in Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) and collaborating on defining user stories, ensuring clear and actionable tasks.
- Taking ownership of tasks, estimate effort, and delivering high-quality features within sprint timelines, contributing to continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Promoting cross-functional collaboration, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing within the team to uphold Agile principles and drive collective success.
- Collaborating on architecture and system design, contributing to the overall technical direction.
- Ensuring the software produced is of the highest quality, meeting both functional and non-functional requirements.
- Engage with users and stakeholders to clarify technical requirements and ensure the software delivers the desired user experience.
To Be Considered For This Role You Will Have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- 3 years of experience in software development, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality solutions in complex projects.
- Proficiency in C (mandatory) with knowledge of modern practices.
- Experience with developing software for Unix/Linux environments.
- Familiarity with other programming languages such as C# .NET, Python (highly regarded).
- A strong understanding of system architecture, object-oriented programming (OOP), and software design patterns.
- Familiarity with Agile SCRUM processes and DevOps methodologies for continuous integration and delivery.
- Experience working within Agile teams, actively contributing to sprint goals, and delivering features through continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments while adhering to deadlines and quality standards.
