About the Position:
This position requires attention to detail, an understanding of production flow, and a willingness to learn and follow proper techniques.

The successful candidate must:
Have at least 1 year of experience hands-on with sandblasting (Glass bead cabinet experience is not applicable).
Be familiar with SSPC / NACE surface cleanliness standards.
Demonstrate a clear understanding of safety and cleanliness when handling blasted material and blasting equipment.
Demonstrate ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
Willing to learn new application techniques and processes in the sandblasting work center.
Understand and demonstrate experience consistent with Aegis’ core values.
Sandblasting Assistant Duties:
Prepare parts for blasting according to work order (degreasing, masking)
Stage parts on blast carts and move carts in and out of the blast booth using a forklift.
Inspect parts and identify concerns before blasting (i.e. broken item, grease, paint, etc.)
Inspect parts after blasting and confirm that blasted parts meet the required SSPC standard.
Rack and prep parts for coating.
Assist with media reclaim (sweeping media and circulating it).
Assist with other shop duties as assigned (packing, sanding, etc.).
Sandblaster Duties:
Blast customer goods as per work order to SSPC/NACE standards.
Safety Inspections of equipment, overseen or completed on own.
Maintain communication with the Blast Assistant.
Basic equipment maintenance (nozzle and hose replacement, troubleshooting pot blockages, replacing coupler. seals, familiar with nozzle gauge and air pressure gauge).
Manage compressor usage (turn off variable when not blasting).
Actively engage in problem-solving, not problem naming.
Effective at time management.
Detail-oriented and able to follow a process to completion.
Prior forklift experience.
