Position: Haul Truck Operator
Reports to: Mine Operations Supervisor
Location: Magino Mine
Role Overview/Purpose
Reporting to the Supervisor – Mine Operations, the Truck Operator is responsible for their safety and the safety of their co-workers while hauling and dumping ore and waste material from development and production sources. As this is a start-up position, the successful candidate may also be required to assist with other mine related services as needed.
Primary Responsibilities
- Safely operate Truck to meet daily plan and operation targets.
- Effective communication using a 2-way radio system.
- Maintain equipment integrity and complete job hazard analysis reports and equipment logbooks.
- Always protect the safety and well-being of yourself and your co-workers. Follow all Company specific safety protocols and Occupational Health & Safety policies and procedures.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications And Experience
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- A valid driver’s license (G class).
- Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience operating heavy equipment.
- Knowledge of WHMIS, which includes familiarity of chemical products, use, disposal, and Safety Data Sheets applications.
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team to achieve best-in-class efficiency and productivity.
- Self-motivated with excellent time management skills and the ability to manage competing demands and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to communicate clearly.
- Ability to support and promote Health & Safety practices.
Working Conditions
- The role is located at the Magino Mine, which is approximately 88 kilometers northeast of Wawa, Ontario, Canada.
- The ideal candidate for the role will work a rotation of 7 days on and 7 off or 14 days on and 14 days off (12-hour days).
- Although you will be assigned a work schedule, this is not a guaranteed schedule of hours, and your work hours may vary with the needs of the company.
- Candidates must be able to maintain high levels of performance for extended shifts.
