Dispatcher Afterhours

Duties:

• Quickly analyze the information received form the caller and dispatch the required vehicles.

• Coordinate, schedule, manage and communicate all pickup and delivery requirements to drivers via telephone and/or pre-planned trips.

• Configure routes daily for pickup and delivery for drivers, ensure on-time pickups and deliveries.

• Optimize driver trips and routes to ensure truck and service capacity.

• Monitor and maintain constant communication with all drivers always.

• Respond to customer inquiries and requests for pickups.

• Help resolve work-related problems and monitor work related accidents and incidents.

• Track any habitual problems. Investigate situations for root causes and provide corrective solutions to problems to avoid re-occurrence.

• Ensure smooth daily dispatch operations including computer systems, loading equipment and machinery.

• Advise and inform drivers of route and traffic problems such as: construction, accidents, congestion, weather conditions, weight and size restrictions and other information.

• Provide other customer service or after hours support as required.

• Requirements:

Extensive knowledge of Cross border Dispatch.

• Excellent planning and organization skills.

• Excellent spatial and reasoning skills.

• Must have knowledge of Ontario Transportation and Safety Regulations.

• Must have ability to multi-task in a fast pace and dynamic atmosphere.

• Must have the skills and ability to use computer software, computer literate in: Word, Excel, Outlook, Google Maps.

• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Shift Timings: 6 PM – 1AM/ 7 PM – 2AM

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 44 per week

Schedule:

• Evening shift
• Night shift
