Position Overview
We are recruiting a Development Coordinator for our Development Team. The Development Coordinator is responsible and accountable for coordinating activities to support the successful delivery of development projects within the Basecamp portfolio of hotel, residential, commercial and industrial development projects.

Full-time/Permanent
Location: Must work from either our Canmore or Calgary office.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with project due diligence and feasibility including coordinating external consultants through predevelopment phases and obtaining required site reports, prioritizing action items, and preparing Design Briefs.
- Support the Development Managers role in evaluating site specific designs, zoning compliance, financial feasibility, engineering, and constructability.
- Help support/manage the development approval process, including, but not limited to; research, meetings/coordination with municipal staff, preparation of municipal submissions, all Entitlements, Development Permits, and Building Permits.
- Review site plans, evaluate feasibility, and propose modifications as necessary.
- Attend consultants meeting as required for individual projects, coordinate any information between leadership and consultants ensuring efficient progression through drawing production to meet timelines established for project. Prepare action items/minutes/agendas, as required.
- Coordination of information and drawings as required between internal departments.
- Liaise with stakeholders to ensure that projects meet company's goals and objectives.
- Support administrative functions of the Real Estate team.
- Stay informed about local zoning laws and regulations.
- Travel to various locations throughout Alberta and British Columbia to investigate development opportunities and/or attend meetings.
- Support other duties related to business development as required.
- Practices excellent communication and presentational skills (written and verbal).
- Use problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Requirements
- Diploma in Architectural Technologies (or Equivalent) – Required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field - an asset.
- Possess strong organizational skills and prioritizing skills, pay attention to detail, and strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrates problem solving and critical thinking skills, highly collaborative and self-motivated.
- Excellent planning, prioritizing and ability to work in a fast-paced environment, to meet set deadlines.
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively engage with coworkers, consultants, and any other team members to ensure projects remain on course and schedule.
- Always act in a positive and professional manner.
- Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience working in a planning and development, project coordination, or architectural design/drafting role.
- Good knowledge and understanding of the development process, construction, building code, land use bylaw implementation & related knowledge for mid to large scale developments.
- Requires a high level of fluency reading plans, bylaws, and related project documents.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite. AutoCAD or Revit (or equivalent), Bluebeam, and the ability to produce 3D renders are a bonus.
- Valid driver’s licence.
