Bayshore is currently seeking a full time, permanent Legal Counsel. As one of Bayshore’s Legal Counsel, you will report to and provide legal support to Bayshore‘s Director, Legal in overseeing the provision of legal support to Bayshore’s operations and supporting Bayshore’s role as leader in healthcare services across Canada.
In this role, you will be part of a dynamic legal team providing legal advice to senior management and staff to identify and mitigate risk, while advancing corporate goals and initiatives. You will provide practical and exceptional legal services in areas including, but not limited to corporate/commercial law, specialty pharmacy, procurement, health law and legislative compliance. As an energetic, motivated, solutions-oriented lawyer focused on proactively identifying risk and advancing Bayshore’s corporate strategies, you will develop and maintain strong working relationships with Bayshore’s internal stakeholders and work to determine business and contractual requirements; draft, review, negotiate and finalize contracts and legal documents. You will have the opportunity to participate in cross-functional initiatives and projects, such as new service offerings and impact assessments related to new legislation. Qualifications and Skills
• 3-5 years in-house and/or firm experience in Canada, with expertise in healthcare, or specialty pharmacy, or M&A, and solid experience in general corporate/ commercial law, contract drafting and negotiation.
• Bachelor of Laws degree (LL.B. or J.D.) and a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
• A university degree in business or health sciences is an asset.
• You are a service-oriented lawyer with strong conceptual thinking and decision-making skills, who is capable of managing a high volume of competing priorities appropriately and effectively.
• You work well both independently and collaboratively as a team member.
• Your communication skills are excellent (oral and written) and you have strong interpersonal, negotiation and presentation skills.
• Bilingual in French and English.
