Reporting to the Production Manager, the Drywaller works under our construction division completing restoration work for both residential and commercial properties.
JobDuties
Drywall installations: installs drywall to cover walls, ceilings, soffits, shafts, and movable partitions in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings, inclusive of tape, fill and finish ready for paint application
Measures and marks cutting lines on drywall
Scribes cutting lines on drywall and breaks board along cut lines
Fits and fastens board into specific position on wall
Cuts openings into board for electrical outlets, vents or fixtures
Measures, cuts, assembles and installs metal framing and decorative trim for windows, doorways, and vents.
Fits, aligns, and hangs doors and installs hardware such as locks and kick plates
Reads work order or receives instructions from supervisor
Erects scaffolding or sets up ladders to perform tasks above ground level
Will practice good housekeeping at all times to ensure a safe and non-cluttered worksite
Provide excellent customer service
Work under time constraints to meet specific timelines
Ensure attention to detail and keen sense of safeguarding other people’s property and information
Participates in and demonstrates an understanding of safety principles and practices; follows all safety policies and procedures to support a safe working environment, including safe operation of machines and equipment
Comply with all BELFORpolicies and procedures, as well as legislative requirements
Proactively communicate job site conditions and concerns that may or are affecting completion of the job to the appropriate person
This role could be required to act as a “lead” periodically as designated by their manager
Attend all BELFORsponsored training courses
Qualifications
Post Secondary drywall courses / certification, and / or 1 years’ experience in drywall installation
Construction / Restoration / Insurance experience preferred
Comprehensive understanding of customer service, principles and practices
Eligible to operate a motor vehicle per BELFOR’svehicle policy
Ability to work within a team or independently as needed
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
Basic computer and/or tablet/iPad experience
Willing to work evenings, on call and weekends when requested
Periodic travel may be required
