Job Summary:

Black Box Manufacturing, a company that designs, manufactures, installs, and tests solutions for industrial equipment packaging, is seeking an Apprentice Electrician to join our team. As an Electrical Apprentice, you will work under the supervision of experienced electricians and learn the skills necessary to install and maintain electrical systems for various projects.You will be working closely with the in-house engineering, project management, and welding/fabrication teams to deliver high-quality solutions to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist electricians with the installation and maintenance of electrical systems in various projects.
• Learn to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Learn to safely handle and use electrical tools and equipment.
• Learn to comply with electrical codes, regulations, and standards.
• Running Cable
• Terminating Cables
• Testing Runs
• Installing Panels
• Installing Lights, Recepticals, Switches, Etc.
• Installing Major Equipment
• Laying out and installing Unistrut and Cable Tray
• Participate in on-the-job training and educational programs to develop skills and knowledge.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Industrial Experience an asset.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Enrolled in or completed an electrical apprenticeship or vocational training program.
• Basic understanding of electrical concepts and principles.
• Ability to follow instructions and learn new skills quickly.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Working Conditions:

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You will be working on various job sites, which may be indoors or outdoors and may involve exposure to noise, dust, and other hazards. You will also be required to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds. The work schedule may vary depending on project deadlines, and occasional overtime may be required.

Compensation will be commensurate with the successful applicant’s strengths and experience as measured by the above description.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $23.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
