The Position
Reporting to the Head of Global Facilities & Engineering (GFE), you will be responsible for managing the requirements of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and support with facility management selected across all departments for the Canadian organization.
The Facilities Management Supervisor will:
- Independently drives initiatives in consultation with the Head of GFE on project assessment, planning/proposals to address business needs.
- Environmental safety and security of office & field employees, as well as a safe environment for building occupants and visitors
- Compliance to Canadian health and safety regulations
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the management and operation of building and other outdoor assets through compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs)
- Manage maintenance, repair measures and safety of buildings, office equipment, physical space, outdoor facilities at the respective site
- Support in directing maintenance activities to ensure all site assets are kept in a safe and compliant state of operation
- Support Head of GFE with EHS related compliance with respect to legal, authority and BI requirements as well as local Security
- Act as the Health and Safety Compliance Officer
- Management and allocation of space inside building
- Manage and coordinate employee moves and ensure work environment is adequate, including meeting spaces
- Supervise and provide direction to daily operations of outsourced providers(s)for facility services.
- As a Key User, coordinate updates on CCTV and Access Control system including timely communications with Vendors and Regional support as required
- Ensure the tracking of utility consumption and timely submission of quarterly reports
This position is located
on-site.
On-site roles require employees to physically be in the Burlington, Ontario office located at 5180 South Service Road.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or college diploma (Engineering, Facilities, Resource Management, Mechanical / Construction / Architectural Technology, or relevant skilled trades and or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of Facility Management and EHS
- 5-7 years' experience in Facility Management role that includes leadership, project management and working with a diverse team of staff and subcontractors.
- BOMI and/or Certified Facility Manager (CFM) certifications would be an asset
- Strong knowledge of safety, sustainability and security topics
- Exhibit knowledge of common property issues (maintenance and other) and experience in resolving promptly and effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to research/investigate complex issues and negotiate a positive resolution.
- Demonstrated project management capabilities combined with strong leadership, organizational, conflict management and decision-making skills
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Strong customer service orientation
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience working in a collaborative and cross-functional organization, with experience in a global, matrix organization is an asset
