Core Responsibilities
As a File Opening Clerk within our Creditor Practice team your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Monitoring file opening, prioritizing urgent requests and opening all others in a timely manner;
- Ensuring accuracy upon file opening, then maintaining accuracy throughout the life cycle of the file with updates to information as necessary;
- Identifying incomplete file information and researching/requesting missing information as required;
- Completing thorough and accurate conflict checks daily;
- Reviewing file opening procedures with new employees;
- Processing outgoing wires, credit card payments, disbursements, etc.;
- Supporting other accounting functions including billing, cheques, deposits, etc.; and,
- Other duties as required
Qualifications and Skills
To be successful, you possess the following qualifications and skills:
- 1-2 years of experience in a data entry, data validation, or similar role required;
- Graduate of an Accounting program considered an asset;
- Exceptional attention to detail and proven organization skills;
- Aptitude for critical thinking, problem solving, and making sound judgement calls;
- Superior communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work with multiple stakeholders;
- Proven ability to manage time effectively, as well as the ability to handle multiple priorities in a deadline driven work environment;
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and follow instructions with minimal supervision;
- Adept at using technology such as Outlook and the full Microsoft Suite, with a talent for learning new software programs quickly; and,
- Excellent team player who contributes positively to the team culture
