We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data migration, data warehousing/lakehouse architecture, and building data pipelines across platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Lead data migration projects for on-premise to cloud-based systems ensuring a smooth and efficient transition.
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure data pipelines to efficiently process large volumes of data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (business analysts, data scientists, product managers) to identify data requirements and implement solutions for seamless data access.
- Utilize various technologies to develop and optimize data solutions, including: Microsoft Azure (Synapse Link, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, SQL Server etc.), Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Dataverse, and data warehousing/lakehouse technologies.
- Implement data quality checks and processes to ensure data accuracy and availability.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for data pipelines and essential metrics.
- Advocate for best practices in data engineering and promote continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience with building and deploying real-time data pipelines.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required. Relevant, proven experience is also acceptable.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in data engineering or related role.
- Practical experience with a data migration project for an ERP implementation, ideally with Dynamics 365 FSCM but similar experience.
- Strong expertise in cloud platforms (Azure preferred, familiarity with others a plus).
- Hands-on experience with data warehousing/lakehouse technologies and data pipeline design/implementation.
- Extensive experience with data modeling and data quality best practices.
- Familiar with Microsoft Fabric, and the Powerplatform.
- Practical experience with ETL/ELT processes and tools.
- Experience with evaluating and selecting appropriate technologies based on cost, performance, and quality.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiar with Data Vault Methodology.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines for data pipeline deployment.
- Understanding of data science and machine learning concepts.
- Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., Azure Data Engineer) or data engineering tools.
