GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Loungeworks Inc (a division of Chair-man Mills Inc) is a Vancouver-based event services company that provides short-term furniture rentals, full design services, and event production to corporate and private clients in a variety of industries. As a Decor Crew member, you will be responsible for transforming event spaces into captivating and visually appealing environments. Your creativity, attention to detail, and ability to work efficiently under pressure will be key to creating memorable experiences for our clients and their guests.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Event Setup:
Assist in the setup and installation of event decor elements such as drapery, lighting, table centerpieces, backdrops, and other decorative items.
Ensure all decor items are arranged according to the event design plan and client specifications.
Collaborate with the Decor Lead and other team members to execute setup tasks efficiently and within the given timeframe.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with the Decor Supervisor and other crew members to coordinate setup and breakdown activities.
Communicate effectively with the logistics team to ensure timely delivery and pickup of decor items.
Assist colleagues and share knowledge to enhance the overall efficiency of the Decor Crew.
Order Fulfillment: Accurately pick and pack items from shelves based on customer orders. Verify the accuracy of items and quantities before packaging for delivery.
Quality Control:
Inspect all decor items before and after events to ensure they are in excellent condition.
Handle decor items with care, preventing damage and ensuring they are well-maintained for future events.
Report any damage or missing items to the Decor Supervisor promptly.
Event Breakdown:
Assist in the efficient breakdown and removal of decor items at the end of events.
Pack and store decor items safely and systematically, ensuring they are ready for the next use.
Collaborate with the Decor Crew to complete breakdown tasks in a timely manner.
Client Interaction:
Interact professionally with clients and venue staff, always ensuring a positive and helpful attitude.
Address client requests and concerns courteously, seeking guidance from the Decor Supervisor when necessary.
REQUIREMENTS
Previous experience in event setup, decor installation, or a related field is preferred.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow design plans and specifications.
Physical fitness and ability to lift and move heavy decor items as required.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on event schedules.
Attention to detail and accuracy in order picking and packing.
Must be able to follow instructions and work well as part of a team.
Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Knowledge and ability to adhere to workplace safety precautions.
