Job Description
Responsible for planning, directing and coordinating all on-site mechanical and electrical activities while complying with project documents, specifications and company requirements and codes for multiple projects.
- the scope of work deals mainly with mechanical, electrical and technical trades and systems.
- Oversee all mechanical/electrical trades on adherence to drawings, specifications, quality, and schedule.
- Provide support to superintendents, project managers and estimators in the areas of: site coordination, schedules, meetings and budgeting
- Assistance in the development of temporary services for the project
- Act as a liaison between Project team and M & E Consultants/trades
- Review RFI’s and change orders for content, cost and schedule impact
- Provide an on-site commissioning role between the mechanical, electrical and other building trade divisions
- Participate in safety walks and inspections
- Review, assist and provide input on the progress of drawing approvals
- Participate in all facets of project close-out, including commissioning, operation/maintenance manuals, spare part inventory, deficiencies and warranty work.
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
- 2 year college diploma/trade school or university degree in mechanical/electrical engineering and/or,
- 2 or more years of experience in a mechanical/electrical construction related position,
- Ability to understand and apply construction drawings, specifications, methods, and procedures,
- Experience with scheduling procedures, monitoring, and forecasting resources for optimum efficiency,
- Understand scopes of work and how to coordinate trade activities,
- Ability to analyze contract documents and make recommendations accordingly,
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering systems, principles and practices
- Experience with basic planning concepts,
- Effective oral and written communication
- Working knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook etc.)
- Working knowledge of scheduling and scheduling software (SureTrac, P6, MS Project etc)
