We are currently recruiting for the following position:
ASSISTANT MANAGER-OPERATIONS
The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of all Club events and services.
- Support and assist Food & Beverage team, Facilities team, and Chef prior to events, as requested, and ensure adequate stock levels, consistency of contract information and execution of events.
- Properly handle complaints, problem solving, disturbances, special requests and any other issues that may arise.
- Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision, scheduling, assigning work, conducting training, conducting counselling and evaluations, and delivering recognition and reward.
- Assist Facilities and Grounds Manager in assuring all set ups and audio/video is functioning for events as required from time to time.
- Be aware and able to enforce all fire-life-safety procedures.
- Report and address any suspicious persons, activities and/or hazardous conditions with the appropriate department or authorities.
- Secure premises at the end of the night.
- Coordinate with vendors for events, ensuring preparation of rooms match client contracts
- Liase with client and/or event organizer to ensure satisfaction and efficient service
- Oversee and review the weekly work schedules and shift duties, making adjustments throughout the week based to ensure staff coverage is adequate and consistent, including Manager on Duty assignments.
- Completion of performance management documentation
- Where designated recruit and onboard new team members.
- Obtain and maintain all the necessary training certificates and courses etc. that are required by all levels of government and/or internally by the Club (ie. Food handling, Smartserve, WHMIS) for the position.
- Review sales and beverage costs for previous day; resolve discrepancies with Accounting.
- Establish and maintain standards for staff performance and customer service
- Responsibility for all beverage purchases, inventories, and stock levels within the operation, including reporting of daily and monthly inventory counts of service ware (china, cutlery, glassware, serving pieces, etc) along with alcohol and beverages
- Monitor food presentation and that it is in presented in an acceptable manner
- Implementing and enforcing financial controls, helping with control of operating expenses, scheduling and purchasing.
- Update menu & price changes on the Point of sale (POS) terminal.
- Implement and ensure the Health & Safety Program and practices including conducting investigations, Hygiene & Safety Policy is met at all times.
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
- Maintain complete knowledge and strictly abide by Ontario liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons, and drunk driving.
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years prior Management experience in a similar food and beverage environment required.
- Hospitality or business post-secondary education highly recommended.
- Experience in hospitality serving customers in banquets highly recommended.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely required.
- Demonstrated acumen in coaching, managing and developing staff; reaching targeted revenues; problem solving; managing costs; resolving disputes and excellence in customer service required.
- Experience using Microsoft Office products required.

Pay: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
