QC Technician 1

Profile

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring end product is produced according to customer specifications. Including but not limited to Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA), Granular Base Course (GBC), and aggregate crushing. The Quality Control Technician is a seasonal position.

Main Responsibilities

• Perform testing in accordance with Standard General’s Quality Control System.
• Read and understand test methods and procedures.
• Communicate with clients, including operations personnel.
• Troubleshoot and make recommendations to maintain high quality product.
• Complete documentation and Data control.
• Complete care and maintenance of testing equipment.
• Maintain company image (i.e. company equipment, proper personal image).
• Other related duties as assign by the Quality Control Supervisor.

To Be Successful in this Role You Will Need:

• 2-3 years of experience in asphalt quality control.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• CET OR similar education is required.
• Alberta transportation experience is considered an asset.
• Valid driver’s license (Class 5).
• Own transportation.
• Must have a good understanding of mathematics, with strong computer skills.
• Ability to work overtime as required.
• Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 90 lbs on a regular basis.
• Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol policy, including testing requirements.
