Summary of Business Events Manager role:
Are you passionate about driving business growth and creating unforgettable experiences? As the Business Events Manager, you'll take the lead in managing the dynamic operations of our Business Events unit. You'll play a pivotal role in driving the lifecycle of sales leads, boosting revenue, and attracting more visitors to Greater Victoria by making a direct impact in the Meetings sector. From planning and executing tradeshows, familiarization trips (FAMs), and site visits, to hosting client events, you'll be at the forefront of our efforts to showcase Victoria as a must-see destination. Your deep understanding of Victoria will allow you to actively promote its vibrant meetings and events industry, unlocking new business opportunities and elevating our competitive edge.
This position is a hybrid role, with a requirement to work in-office at least three times per week, requiring the successful candidate to be located in the Greater Victoria region. It is a full-time 35/hrs a week role with a salary between $65,000 - $75,000.
What you need to bring:
· Minimum 5 years of experience in hospitality, tourism, or a related field.
· Minimum 3 years sales and account management experience in conference, meetings, trade show, exhibition, business events, or catering sales management.
· Experience with special events sales and trade program execution is required
· Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred, a technical college degree or diploma will be considered.
· Energetic, self-motivated and results oriented.
· Highly effective project management, prioritization, multi-tasking, and time management skills to meet deadlines.
