Salary: $35-$40 / Hour
Status: Part Time Contract position – 8 hours per week (flexible)

Job Purpose
As a contracted Bylaw Enforcement Officer, you will be responsible for enforcing municipal bylaws to ensure the safety, health, and well-being of the community. This contract position requires 8 hours per week, with flexible working hours to accommodate various situations and schedules.

The District of Clearwater is a vibrant and growing community dedicated to maintaining a safe and orderly environment for its residents. We are currently seeking a reliable and professional contractor to provide Bylaw Enforcement Services on a part-time basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to complaints regarding bylaw violations.
  • Conduct routine patrols.
  • Investigate and document bylaw infractions and take appropriate enforcement actions.
  • Educate the public on municipal bylaws and regulations.
  • Prepare reports and maintain accurate records of enforcement activities.
  • Work collaboratively with other municipal departments and agencies.
  • Attend court proceedings and provide testimony as required.



Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in law enforcement, criminology, or a related field is an asset.
  • Previous experience in bylaw enforcement, law enforcement, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of municipal bylaws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confrontational situations with tact and professionalism.
  • Strong organizational and report-writing skills.
  • Valid BC driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.


Work Environment

  • Combination of office work and outdoor patrols in various weather conditions.
  • Flexible hours (8 hours per week), which may include evenings and weekends as needed.
  • May be called upon to support an emergency within the District.
  • District Vehicle, Cell Phone, Uniform and Equipment provided.
