We are seeking an experienced associate lawyer to join our family law practice. In this role you will be responsible for representing our clients in family law matters of varying complexity, including child custody, spousal support, separation, and divorce. We are a modern law firm that places great emphasis on technological innovation and efficient operations.
Qualifications:
Law degree from an accredited law school.
License in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
Minimum of 5 years experience as a family lawyer in an Ontario law firm.
Excellent analytical, drafting, and research skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proven experience practicing family law.
Strong knowledge of family law statutes, regulations, and procedures.
Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Knowledge of various software including Microsoft Office and DivorceMate
Responsibilities:
Provide legal advice and guidance to clients regarding their rights and obligations.
Prepare legal documents, such as motions, agreements, and financial statements.
Conduct legal research and stay updated on changes in family law.
Attend court hearings and litigate cases on behalf of clients.
Negotiate settlements and mediate disputes between parties.
Collaborate with other professionals, such as counselors and social workers, to provide comprehensive support to clients.
Maintain daily dockets and client billing.
Maintain client confidentiality and uphold ethical standards.
