We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Purchaser/Inventory Controller to join our team. As a Purchaser/Inventory Controller, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring the availability of goods and materials necessary for our operations. Your role will involve coordinating with suppliers, analyzing demand patterns, optimizing inventory levels, and implementing effective inventory control strategies. This position requires strong analytical abilities, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Procurement Management:
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish favorable terms and conditions.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine procurement needs and develop purchasing plans accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, prices, and deliveries.
- Monitor supplier performance, resolve any issues or discrepancies, and ensure timely delivery of goods.
Inventory Control:
- Develop and implement effective inventory control strategies to optimize stock levels, minimize carrying costs, and reduce wastage.
- Regularly review inventory levels, analyze demand patterns, and adjust procurement plans to meet operational requirements.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and reconcile any discrepancies.
- Implement and maintain efficient inventory tracking systems, utilizing appropriate software and tools.
Supplier Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering open communication and collaboration.
- Evaluate supplier performance, including quality, pricing, and delivery reliability, and provide feedback as necessary.
- Stay updated on market trends, new products, and industry developments to identify potential alternative suppliers or cost-saving opportunities.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Generate regular reports on purchasing activities, inventory levels, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Analyze data to identify trends, highlight areas for improvement, and make data-driven recommendations to optimize procurement and inventory processes.
- Provide input and support to management in strategic decision-making related to procurement, inventory control, and cost management.
Requirements:
- Experience in supply chain management, or a related field. Relevant certifications or additional education would be a plus.
- Proven experience in procurement, inventory control, or a related role, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, inventory management techniques, and supply chain principles.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and other relevant tools.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
- Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and inventory tracking.
- Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams and adapt to changing business needs.
- Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and compliance standards would be advantageous.
