The position
The ambition is to develop safe, sustainable, and long-term value growth in Canada, shaping the future of energy and bringing progress for society. Equinor has been present in Canada since 1996 and is headquartered in St. John's, Newfoundland & Labrador. The company has a diverse portfolio, including partner-operated production with the Hibernia and Hebron fields in the Jeanne d'Arc Basin, an exploration license portfolio in the Flemish Pass Basin, and operated project development in the Greater Bay du Nord Project area.
To support these activities, Equinor's Canadian Subsurface Competence Centre is seeking a Reservoir Engineer. The position will primarily focus on supporting our Partner Operated Licenses in the Jeanne d’Arc Basin (Hibernia and Hebron).
By joining our team in Exploration & Production International you will have the opportunity to-
- Collaborate with various disciplines to identify project risks and opportunities
- Deliver the annual reserve reporting and production forecasting
- Evaluate and support well and data acquisition programs
- Participate in license meetings with external stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with Equinor's functional and technical requirements
- Uphold Equinor's values and safety expectations
You

- A bachelor's degree in engineering required, eligibility for PEGNL
- 3 years of technical experience preferred with proven deliveries
- A broad technological background within reservoir engineering
- Significant hands-on experience with commercial engineering tools, such as Eclipse 100/300, RMS, PVTSim, NETool, IPM suite (Prosper/GAP)
- Experience with-
- Reserves reporting and production forecasting
- Uncertainty analysis
- Project development and operations
- Data analytics, visualization and scripting/programming (e.g. Power BI, Python)
- Experience in the following is an advantage-
- Production and injection management
- Pressure transient analysis and well testing
- Subsea oil fields and tie-back developments
- Subsea production systems
- Offshore processing technology
- Production log planning and analysis
- Flow assurance
- Rock mechanics
- IOR initiatives and modelling of advanced wells
- Well completions and stimulation
- Proficiency in O365 software applications such as MS Excel and PowerPoint
- Good communication skills and strong command of English, both oral and written
- Team player that works and communicates across disciplinary borders
- Proactive by nature, takes initiative and able to work independently as needed
