The Signal Maintainer is the person responsible of maintaining and repairing the different signalling systems on the Railway.

Responsibilities:
The selected individual will perform the following functions:
- Performs inspections, maintenance, or repairs for;
- o Signalization and telecommunications systems, railway crossing warning systems, relay stations, tracks circuits (ground, underground, overhead).
- Works on live energy supply from different systems.
- Follows and complies with the various rules, railroad safety procedure and standards of Transport Canada.
- Interacts with the railway authorities.
- Interprets and works with plans.
- Verifies the cables conductivity and resistance using the appropriate instruments.
- Prepares required reports, manually or electronically for the department.
- Works safely.
- Performs all other related tasks.
General Requirements:
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
- Must possess a certification in Electromechanical, Electrical Engineering or Electrician.
- Possess experience in the railway industry in signals and communication. (asset)
- Ability to adapt to changing situations; working hours, service calls, overtime, tasks to accomplish, outside of the work location, etc.
- Must be prepared to work in adverse weather conditions.
- Must be prepared to work on call 24/7, weekends, shifts.

- Able to work under minimal supervision.
- Possess mechanical aptitude.
- Able to problem solve and be organized.
