Responsibilities
As a Warehouseperson, you are a key member of the Gentek distribution team. You’ll perform a variety of tasks related to product movement, warehouse organization and cleanliness, and customer service. General responsibilities include:
Shipping & Receiving
Pick orders and prepare them in staging areas for delivery
Assist with loading and unloading of delivery trucks
Pick orders for immediate pick-up
Ensure accuracy of order against paperwork
Move incoming product to the designated location in the branch
Customer Service
Greet customers entering the warehouse by addressing them verbally
Serve them immediately or indicate that they will be helped as quickly as we can manage
Qualifications
Education/Experience/Skill
High school education required
Able to read and write word and letter/number sequences
Forklift certified an asset
Experience in a warehouse environment an asset
Behavioural Disposition
High compliance with standards, requirements, and processes. You’ll come to work and give us your best each day
Emotional intelligence that facilitates respectful and courteous interactions with customers and other Gentek employees
Attentive and detail-oriented
Environment & Physical/Mental Demands
Must be able to safely lift 50lbs
Must be able to operate material handling equipment
Distribution branch physical environment: noise, fluctuating temperature due to bay doors being open, constant stimulation of senses (visual, audio distractions)
