About the role:
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Journeyperson Plumber is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs for a variety of facilities and systems at our Elkview Operation. This is a full-time hourly position that offers an attractive compressed work week with alternating Fridays off. This schedule will be changing to a 4x4 schedule in 2025. The position is site-based at our operations in the Elk Valley, and the ability to reliably commute to or relocate near Sparwood, B.C is necessary.
In this role you will:
- Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
- Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs for a variety of facilities throughout the entire site
- Proactive diagnosis of facility deficiencies and supporting the coordination of those facility maintenance requirements through the maintenance supervisor
- Maintain the Sewage Treatment Plant and Potable Water System
Requirements:
- Valid Inter Provincial Red Seal Plumber
- Class B gas fitting certification
- Valid driver’s license
- General knowledge of other skillsets consisting of electrical, mechanical, carpentry, and welding is considered an asset
- Small Waste Water Treatment and Small Water Systems Certifications would be considered an asset

Base earnings reflected in salary range includes the hourly wage plus applicable shift premiums and will differ depending on location. It is calculated using a reasonably expected number of hours worked per year.
